This year, we were privileged to host Wandsworth’s Big Play Out, in collaboration with Enable, the Battersea Summer Scheme, and Wandsworth Council. This summer initiative is part of the council’s efforts to provide support to families amid the challenges posed by the Cost of Living crisis and to address the financial constraints faced by many families throughout the school holidays.

Aimed at children aged 5 to 16, the week-long event offered a diverse array of engaging activities, so there was something for everyone to get stuck into. Over the week, we welcomed 6,661 people through our doors.

Smart Live played an instrumental role in managing the event, and organizing the activities, which included dance classes, music workshops, exercise classes, sports activities, a reading corner, movie sessions, food education workshops, table tennis, giant inflatables, art classes, soft play, games, crafting and the children could even try their hand at being a radio presenter!

The children and their families were also provided with a complimentary lunch, donated by our in-house caterer Moving Venue, who ensured that there was something on offer for all dietary requirements, including a selection of burgers, cakes, and a pizza-making station, which all went down a treat!

Staff members from various other divisions of Smart Group also enthusiastically contributed their time to help out at the event, getting involved in all sorts of activities, such as manning the Nerf gun stations and recruiting for street dance classes!
