Opened in 1858 by Queen Victoria herself, and as the backdrop for London Ski & Snowboard Festival, Battersea Park, seeping with heritage, is a tranquil escape from the crowds and hosts a wide range of exciting and fun activities to do during your time at the show.

The Peace Pagoda

A symbol of escapism for self-reflection, the Peace Pagoda located in the centre of Battersea Park was presented to Londoners in 1984 as a gift from the Founder of the Japanese Buddist Movement, Venerable Nichidatsu Fuji.

Housing 4 gilded bronze statues, all which represent a significant part of a Buddha’s life, the Peace Pagoda, is 1 of 80 of it’s kind located in Europe, Asia and the United States.

The status, offering panoramic views of Chelsea Embankment, acts as a constant reminder of the resilience of the human race and the beauty of peace and harmony.

The Old English Garden

The recent makeover of Battersea Park’s Old English Garden, saw London perfumery Jo Malone Limited and gardening charity, Thrive join forces to transform this neglected gem.

Built originally in the 1900’s, this now Chelsea gold medal-winner is a fragrant floral retreat and the perfect location for a tranquil walk.

The garden is free to visit and open all year round.

Battersea Power Station

The iconic London Grade II-listed Art Deco showpiece, and Europe’s largest brick building, the Battersea Power Station, has been brought back to life and hosts a new line-up of to innovative entertainment.

You may remember the Power Station from Alfred Hitchcock’s film ‘Sabotage’, Monty Python’s ‘The Meaning of Life’, episodes of ‘Doctor Who’ and musically, the cover of Pink Floyd’s 1977 album ‘Animals’.

A trip to Battersea Park wouldn’t be complete without seeing this overwhelming piece of architecture.

Albert Bridge

Connecting Battersea to Chelsea, Albert Bridge is one of the most beautiful and iconic bridges in London.

Built in the 1870’s, as a hybrid of 3 design styles, Albert Bridge was given its striking pastel colour scheme in 1992 to stop boats crashing into it. During the day, it looks like something out of a Disneyland fairytale, and in the evening, glistens with over 4,000 twinkling lights.

Take a gentle stroll over and back to enjoy the Thames long views.

Pump House Gallery

Previously a Victorian water tower, supplying water to the lake cascades in Battersea Park. This beautiful building now houses a contemporary art gallery, focusing on established and emerging contemporary art, as well as a gift shop.

The gallery also runs regular talks and workshops. Admission is free.

Putt in the Park: Mini Golf

Situated in the heart of Battersea Park, Putt in the Park’s 12-hole golf course is perfect for both the seasoned pro or golfing newbies.

Designed to accommodate all ages, you will find yourself navigating steep slopes, cascades and rockeries for the top prize.

Bluebird Boats

Equipped with rowing and pedal boats, Bluebird Boats within Battersea Park is a wholesome activity for all ages.

Set within the peaceful lake, prices are adults £6 half hour/£8 hour, children £3 half hour/£4 hour, and family £13 half hour/£18 hour.

Battersea Zoo

Situated in the centre of park lies Battersea Children’s Zoo.

Great for kids of all ages, for those who refuse to grow up or those who want to embrace their inner David Attenborough, you will not only find the usual rabbits, goats, sheep and chickens roaming, but also some slightly more exotic and endangered species like meerkats, monkeys and talking mynah birds.

Go Ape Battersea Park

When you think of “London”, a wild green forest isn’t the first thing that comes to mind.

However, high ropes experience brand, Go Ape, has created a large outdoor treetop adventure within the centre of Battersea Park. The treetop trail offers spectacular views over the surrounding area and is available to all ages.
