Tell us a little bit about yourself!

I recently graduated from the University of Birmingham with a degree in Business Management. During my time at university, an events module sparked my interest in event planning, while my part-time job conducting house viewings introduced me to the world of sales. That’s why this internship is so perfect as it offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in both industries I’m passionate about exploring.

Walk us through your role!

I work with the sales team four days a week and join the planning team every Thursday. In sales, my main responsibility is selling shared Christmas party tickets. This involves responding to new enquiries as well as reaching out to previous bookers to see if they’d like to return this year. I also handle administrative tasks such as creating and sending deposit and drinks invoices and following up on any outstanding payments. On the planning side, I support upcoming events and tasting sessions by creating menus, tent cards, and food tasting booklets.

What are you enjoying most about your new role?

I’m really enjoying working with both the sales and planning teams. The team energy has been fantastic, everyone has been so friendly and welcoming, which made it easy to settle in quickly. I also find the role incredibly rewarding, especially when the effort I’ve put into following up with clients results in a successful booking. It’s a great feeling to see your hard work pay off.

What excites you about working in sales and event planning?

I love that I get to be involved in every stage of the event journey. Seeing the planning process firsthand really helps when selling the vision to clients. Then, being on-site at the events to manage tickets brings it all full circle. I’m excited to see the Christmas parties come to life!

Can you share your favourite moment so far?

Attending site visits both at Evolution London and across our wider portfolio has been a real highlight. I’m also really looking forward to experiencing Secret Cinema at Evolution London. Another standout moment was securing my very first sale it was such an exciting milestone and really motivated me to push myself to sell as many tickets as possible.

What’s your favourite thing to do in when you’re not working?

I love going out for drinks and food with my friends, and I also really enjoy playing netball and doing park runs. I also love travelling!
